Intern Operational Grid Studies (80-100%, 9-12 months) - 1586
Participate in the power supply in Switzerland
In this exciting position, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Modelling of the electrical grid of Switzerland.
- Support EMS applications and contribute to their maintenance and improvement.
- Carrying out core power system studies including load flow, short circuit, state estimation, and contingency analysis.
- Assist with dynamic modelling and stability studies and contribute to tools supporting dynamic stability situational awareness.
- Collaborate with Swissgrid teams to support operational and engineering activities.
This is how you make a difference
For this internship, we are looking for a motivated team player with a genuine passion for power systems and a strong eagerness to learn. You should also bring the following:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, ideally with a focus on power systems, or an equivalent qualification.
- Good knowledge of network analysis functions such as load flow, state estimation, and contingency analysis.
- Experience in the use of offline electrical simulation tools (e.g., PSS/E, ODMS, Simulink, etc.) and in script programming (e.g., Python)
- Fluency in either German or English (French is an advantage)
