The Data & Development team in the business unit technology is looking for a Product Owner from January 2025 onwards. You will be a driving force for Software Engineering to support the business unit “Market” and redesign & support the developer experience.

In this position you will be part of a team that is responsible for providing the data platform as well as the developer experience including tools and development environments for the company.
The team consists of mixture of Software Engineers with different focus areas (Platform, Data, Machine Learning, Cloud Security, …) and plays a vital part in the company’s digitalization ambitions.
This position includes diverse responsibilities and time allocation will roughly look like this:

  • 30% Lead cross-functional project teams within Swissgrid and help them improve day-to-day operations
  • 20% Working with the team on issues definition, work prioritization, planning, review and retrospectives
  • 20% Administrative & support tasks (issue coordination for end users, coordination with software owners)
  • 10% Creating and Managing Roadmaps for GitHub & Developer Environments (define what needs to be built and why)
  • 10% Guiding products & features through execution cycle
  • 10% Mentoring and training different stakeholders (business users, apprentices, interns etc.)


This is how you make a difference

For this role, we are looking for a team-minded, proactive maker with a good sense of humor. Your duties will require the following skills, so ideally you would already have them, but obviously there will be time to catch up on missing ones:

  • Excellent leadership, analytical, quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, creativity, and strategic skills
  • Ability to communicate project requirements and schedules
  • Good understanding of software engineering disciplines (e.g., CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Machine learning, System Engineering, …)
  • Understanding of power system engineering and/or energy markets is a big plus
